In today’s environment, most companies – from small independent start-ups, to large established corporations – are starting to become more aware and interested in what the public is saying about them, both on- and off-line. This movement requires professionals to perpetually stay one step ahead of what the public is thinking, saying, ‘tweeting’ or sharing about the industry and the companies within it. My role involves using specialized tools to analyze trends in conversations to shape marketing programs, public relations campaigns, social media posts, events, and relationships in order to stay on the forefront of the industry. I measure ongoing programs, address potential crises, closely monitor activities of competitors and engage in conversations. I am old school marketing meets new school social media.
